A newly amended AWAL Exposition and Self Administration Manual (ESAM) and Adventure Flight Compliance Guide have been uploaded to the AWAL Website. All members and Adventure Flight operators should take the time and read them.
An older FAA Airworthiness Bulletin has just been re-released by the CAA NZ drawing maintainers attention to the possible cracking or lack of locking of MS21042 Reduced Hex metal lock nuts. AWAL suggests Registered Operators have a discussion with their maintenance providers regarding this issue.
The New Zealand CAA has released an AD, DCA/CT4/9 Wing Rear Spar – Inspection, for all CT4/B aircraft. AWAL considers this to be a ‘Safety of Flight Critical’ inspection and it is required maintenance for all Limited Category CT4/B aircraft.
