The men and women who make up the Australian Warbirds Association represent a true cross-section of our nation’s aerospace community; from enthusiasts and aspiring pilots to others at the pinnacle of military and civil aviation. Your membership will help keep Australian Warbirds operating.

Types of AWAL Membership

Flying Membership: Flying Membership is open to warbird owners and pilots authorised to fly an aircraft certified under Civil Aviation Safety Regulation 21.189 or a warbird certified under Civil Aviation Safety Regulation 21.191 or any legislation which amends or replaces those regulations, who shall be entitled to all the privileges of the Association.

Maintenance Membership: Maintenance Membership is available to persons authorised to certify maintenance on and to issue maintenance releases for an aircraft certified under Civil Aviation Safety Regulation 21.189 or 21.191 or any legislation which amends or replaces those regulations, who shall be entitled to all the privileges of the Association.

Supporter Membership: Persons who wish to support the objectives of the Association, who shall be entitled to all the privileges of Flying and Maintenance Membership except of voting at general meetings of the organisation or voting at elections for the Board.

Temporary Membership: Persons authorized to fly an aircraft certified under Civil Aviation Safety Regulation 21.189 or a warbird certified under Civil Aviation Safety Regulation 21.191 or any legislation which amends or replaces those regulations, who shall be entitled to the privileges of the Company for a fixed period no greater than 3 months. They shall not be entitled to the privilege of voting at general meetings of the Company or voting at elections for the Board.

Junior Members: Junior Membership is available to individuals aged 16 years or under as of the date they join. They shall be entitled to specific privileges of the Company as defined by the Company’s Board of Directors from time to time. They shall not be entitled to the privilege of voting at general meetings of the Company or voting at elections for the Board.

In addition, Life Membership and Honorary Membership may be offered to certain individuals from time to time in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in AWAL’s Constitution.
